APPROPRIATIONS

Erath County United Way Purpose:

To provide funding assistance to agencies whose responsibility is to improve the quality of life to the citizens of Erath County. ECUW does not help people directly, but indirectly through the agencies.

Funding Eligibility:

There is an application process.  To be considered for funding, the agency must:

• Show that they are serving individuals living within Erath County.

• Submit a completed ECUW application with required financial statements and/ or audits.

• Show intent to use the funds for delivery of direct services.

• Pledge to aid in the fund raising process during the ECUW drive and limit their individual agency fund raising so that there is no direct conflict with the ECUW annual drive.

• If agency was previously funded by United Way, they must be able to show specific expenditures related to funds received from ECUW.

• Understand and accept that ECUW allocations are based on criteria mentioned in the application, together with the oral presentation to the budget committee. ECUW budget committee has the full authority to recommend approval or disapproval of any request in its sole discretion and there is not guarantee of funding, partial or complete.

The budget committee is responsible for meeting, interviewing and screening the applications. The committee makes a recommendation to the board and the board grants final approval of funding. The drive committee sets the goal and notifies the budget committee before the interview process.
